Yes, Disqus 2.0 is much better for SEO. I know a London search engine marketing company that's suggesting it for all their clients.

Each comment made on a site shows up as an update for the page it's left on. Originally, Disqus comments didn't provide this benefit to bloggers. Disqus 2.0 does. Allowing blog comments is a search engine ranking tip that many bloggers ascribe to, as it promotes commenting, and counts as updates to their pages, helping them increase their search engine ranking.

let me say this. i think, disqus is like an online storage of comments. haha. i have to clear it myself. disqus has just collaborated with social networking sites for private storage purposes. as we, the user post a comment onto others' account, the comment we posted also have its copy in the disqus. get it??

with this post you made me think of who was the real owner of the comment, is it us the commenter who created the comment, or the blog owner who was given the comment on, or the third party commenting platform.. all have their rights..

even if disqus solved other problems, they still have minor flaws to deal with such as moderating comment spams.
